Job Purpose

To coordinate the day-to-day logistics activities for outbound transportation; to coordinate payment and cost containment activities within the Logistics function; to work within Logistics and with internal departments to create efficiencies, reduce costs and create value-add opportunities to internal and external stakeholders

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Plan, coordinate and dispatch truck freight for various production and offsite locations
  • Prioritize, communicate and provide administrative support to ensure that orders meet commitments
  • Proactively resolve day-to-day issues that may impact internal or external customers ; proactively communicate issues to all relevant parties in a timely manner
  • Communicate with production coordinators, carriers and sales teams on a daily basis
  • Assist with identifying and implementing Logistics initiatives for process improvement
  • Assist in negotiating and analyzing rates with carriers
  • Provide back-up support for other Logistics Analysts and team members
  • Manage outbound shipment responsibilities for a region
  • Assist with TMS optimization, functionality and further customization
  • Collaborate with business groups to recommend strategy and implementation of new processes
  • Collaborate with carriers and A/P group to reconcile payment discrepancies 
  • Additional responsibilities as needed

What do I need to be successful?

  • 2+ years’ previous demonstrated Logistics, or related experience; Or any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
  • Logistics / Supply chain degree preferred
  • Basic knowledge of transportation management systems
  • Basic knowledge of carrier and rate negotiations
  • Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Domestic Transportation
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Working knowledge of information and ERP systems

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Business or equivalent experience
