WHAT YOU WILL DO Forest Inventory ➢ Conduct forest inventory on public and/or private lands using handheld data recorders and basic forest measurement tools. Operate ATV’s, OHV’s, or snowmobiles on a daily or periodic basis. Timber Stand Improvement ➢ Seedling release, tree planting, etc., using handheld mechanized or manual tools. Seasonal/term Forestry Field Technician conducting forest inventory and stand examination projects on National Forests throughout the continental United States. Duties include Common Stand Exams, FIA and other forest inventory protocols, stocking and regeneration examinations, timber cruising, stand mapping and other forestry operations. Extensive travel and remote fieldwork are required. Compensation starts at $18 per hour based on experience, with a typical schedule of 40 hours per week.
