6. How We Share Personal Information

We share Personal Information only as necessary to provide our services, support our programs, comply with the law, and operate our training and workforce‑development systems. We do not sell Personal Information, and we do not share the Personal Information of Minors for advertising or marketing purposes.

The ways we share information are described below.

6.1 With Trusted Service Providers (Data Processors)

  • Employers may use this information solely to evaluate applicants, communicate regarding job opportunities, or make hiring decisions.
  • We do not provide employers access to job seeker information unless the job seeker takes action that authorizes sharing (e.g., submitting an application).

We may also provide employers or state partners with aggregated, de‑identified insights about job board activity.

Once Personal Information is shared with a Partner, employer, or other third party as described in this Policy, that organization becomes responsible for its own use of the information, and its privacy policies and practices will govern how the information is handled.

6.8 Aggregated or De‑Identified Information

We may share aggregated or de‑identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify an individual. This information may be used for program reporting, analytics, funding requirements, or service improvement.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and other tracking technologies to operate our websites and subdomains, understand how users interact with our services, and support features such as training tools, surveys, assessments, and the job board. Some tracking is performed directly by FWTI, and some is performed by trusted third‑party service providers that power embedded features on our site.

7.1 What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help websites recognize your browser. Cookies may be:

  • Session cookies (deleted when you close your browser)
  • Persistent cookies (stored until they expire or are deleted)
  • First‑party cookies (placed by  FWTI)
  • Third‑party cookies (placed by service providers supporting our tools)

We also use similar technologies such as pixels, tags, scripts, and analytic identifiers.

7.2 How We Use Cookies

FWTI and our service providers use cookies and tracking technologies for purposes such as:

  • Enabling website functionality and security
  • Supporting log‑in and account features
  • Remembering preferences and settings
  • Delivering embedded surveys, forms, assessments, and training content
  • Operating the job board and related career tools
  • Measuring website usage and performance
  • Detecting and preventing fraud or misuse

We do not use cookies to target advertising to minors or to profile users for marketing‑based decisions.

7.3 Third‑Party Cookies Used in Embedded Tools

Some features on our websites are powered by third‑party tools that may use their own cookies or tracking technologies when you interact with them. These include, for example:

  • Online forms and surveys

  • Job board features
  • Analytics and performance monitoring tools

These providers may collect:

  • Device information
  • Browser and system details
  • Usage patterns

You may control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • Block or reject cookies
  • Delete existing cookies
  • Receive alerts when cookies are being placed
  • Limit tracking technologies

If you disable cookies, some FWTI features—including surveys, training modules, login functions, and job board tools—may not function properly.

Some third‑party service providers also offer opt‑out tools or browser extensions (for example, Google Analytics opt‑out tools).

7.5 Do Not Track

Your browser may offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. Because no uniform standard exists for responding to DNT signals, our websites and service providers may not respond to these signals. However, you may still limit tracking by managing your cookie settings as described above.

7.6 Cookies Used on Subdomains

If you visit a FWTI subdomain (such as the job board or embedded training portals), additional functional cookies may be used to enable:

  • Login and account features
  • Resume uploads and job applications
  • Course participation or exam access
  • Content delivery and technical performance

These cookies are required to operate the service and cannot be disabled without impairing functionality.

7.7 Cookies and Minors

We do not knowingly use cookies or tracking technologies to profile Minors or to serve targeted advertising to Minors.

Where minors use features that rely on third‑party tracking, we configure those tools to limit the collection of unnecessary information whenever possible.

8. Job Board Privacy

The FWTI Job Board, available through our subdomain and subsite, allows job seekers to create profiles, upload resumes, search for opportunities, and apply for positions posted by employers. It also allows employers to post job openings and review applicants. This section explains how Personal Information is collected, used, and shared within the job board environment.

8.1 Information We Collect Through the Job Board

Job Seekers may provide:

  • Name and contact details
  • Resume, work experience, and education history
  • Certifications and credentials
  • Skills and employment preferences
  • Profile information and uploaded documents
  • Job applications and messages sent to employers

Employers may provide:

  • Business name and contact information
  • Company descriptions and job postings
  • Hiring preferences and application instructions
  • Communications with job seekers

Some technical information—such as IP, device type, browser information, and interaction data—may also be collected to support job board functionality and security.

8.2 How Job Seeker Information Is Shared

Job seeker information is shared only as necessary to facilitate employment services.

We share:

  • Application materials (resume, profile information, messages) only when you choose to apply for a job.
  • Profile information with employers only when you make your profile visible or submit an application.

We do not provide employers with access to job seeker profiles without a job seeker’s action or permission.

Job applications sent to employers are treated as direct communications between the job seeker and the employer.

8.3 How Employer Information Is Shared

Employer information, including posted jobs, company name, and job descriptions, is visible to job seekers and site visitors.
Employer contact information may be displayed depending on employer settings and job board functionality.

Communications between job seekers and employers are not publicly visible.

8.4 Access by Authorized Partners

State workforce agencies, schools, and similar partners may receive limited access to job board data when necessary to:

  • Assist students or job seekers with employment support
  • Verify credential or training status
  • Fulfill reporting or workforce program requirements
  • Coordinate grant‑funded or school‑sponsored placement efforts

Partners may only use the information for authorized FWTI‑related purposes.

8.5 Public or Visible Information

Some employer-provided information (such as job postings and company descriptions) is publicly accessible.

Job seeker profiles are not public by default and are only visible:

  • when a job seeker chooses to apply to a job, or
  • when they update settings to allow visibility to employers.

We do not publish job seeker resumes or personal information as public content.

8.6 Use of Minors’ Information on the Job Board

The job board is intended for individuals who are eligible to seek employment.
Job seekers who are under 18 may use the job board if it is lawful for them to apply for the roles posted and if they choose to do so with appropriate consent where required.

We do not allow job applications or resume submissions from children under 13, and we do not knowingly share Minor information with employers unless a Minor age 16 or older voluntarily submits an application.

8.7 Job Board Service Providers

The FWTI Job Board is hosted and supported by third‑party service providers that operate as our Data Processors. These providers handle:

  • Hosting and data storage
  • Resume and document uploads
  • Account creation
  • Application transmission
  • Site functionality, analytics, and security

They may collect limited technical or usage information necessary to operate the job board securely.

These providers may not use Personal Information for marketing or advertising.

8.8 Retention of Job Board Information

We retain job seeker and employer information as long as necessary to operate the job board and provide related services, unless a user requests deletion or removal. Job seekers may delete their profiles or documents at any time by accessing their account settings, and employers may remove job postings or account information.

Data removed from the job board may be retained securely for a limited period in system backups consistent with our retention practices.

9. Security

We take the security of Personal Information seriously and use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect data from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. Because FWTI uses multiple online platforms and service providers to deliver our training, assessment, and job‑placement services, security includes both the measures we implement directly and those used by our trusted service providers.

9.1 How We Protect Personal Information

We use a combination of security measures, including:

  • Secure data hosting through vendors that maintain robust security certifications
  • Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS) and, where supported, at rest
  • Access controls to limit access to authorized personnel and partners
  • Account protections such as password security and restricted administrative privileges
  • Monitoring and logging of system activity for fraud and abuse detection
  • Regular updates to systems, websites, and software to maintain security

We expect all service providers who process Personal Information on our behalf to maintain appropriate safeguards consistent with industry standards and applicable law.

9.2 Security on Third‑Party Platforms

Several FWTI services—including our training platforms, job board, forms, surveys, assessments, analytics tools, and email delivery services—are hosted by trusted third‑party vendors. These providers use their own technical and organizational measures to safeguard Personal Information.

While these vendors maintain strong security standards, you should also review their privacy and security practices if you want more details about how they protect data.

9.3 Protecting Your Account

If you create an account on any FWTI service (such as the job board or a training portal), you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. To help protect your information:

  • Do not share passwords or access links with others
  • Use strong, unique passwords
  • Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization

We cannot guarantee the security of accounts where credentials are shared or compromised.

9.4 No Method of Transmission Is 100% Secure

While we implement reasonable safeguards, no system can guarantee absolute security. We cannot ensure or warrant the security of information transmitted to us over the internet, and you provide information at your own risk.

If a security incident occurs that impacts your Personal Information, we will notify you consistent with applicable law.

10. Data Retention

We retain Personal Information only for as long as necessary to provide our services, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain program records. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information collected and how it is used.

10.1 Training, Education, and Certification Records

We retain information related to training participation and credential completion—including enrollment records, assessment data, test results, and certifications—for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide proof of completion
  • Support workforce placement activities
  • Verify credentials for students, schools, or employers
  • Maintain accurate program records

Student records may be retained indefinitely and archived after approximately five (5) years in secure systems for long-term record keeping. Schools, partners, or individuals may request deletion of certain educational information consistent with applicable laws.

10.2 Job Seeker and Employer Information

We retain job seeker and employer information associated with jobs.forestryworks.com for as long as an account is active or as needed to operate the job board.

  • Job seekers may delete profiles, resumes, and applications at any time through their account settings.
  • Employers may remove accounts and job postings at any time.
  • Deleted information may remain temporarily in system backups as described in Section 10.5.

If a job seeker applies for a job, their application materials may remain in the employer’s possession according to the employer’s own retention practices.

10.3 Surveys, Forms, and Career Exploration Tools

Information submitted through training forms, surveys, quizzes, or assessment tools is retained as needed to:

  • Analyze participation
  • Improve programs
  • Produce required reports
  • Respond to support requests
  • Maintain records of program activity

Where appropriate, data may be retained in aggregated or de‑identified form for reporting and program evaluation purposes.

10.4 User Accounts and Administrative Information

We retain account information (such as login credentials, organization settings, employer accounts, and partner access records) for as long as an account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward to:

  • Comply with legal and reporting requirements
  • Prevent fraud or misuse
  • Maintain accurate historical records

Users may request deletion of their accounts, as described in the “Your Privacy Rights” section.

10.5 Backups and System Logs

Personal Information deleted from active systems may continue to exist in secure system backups or logs for a limited period. These backups:

  • Are retained only for security, recovery, and continuity purposes
  • Are accessible only to authorized personnel
  • Are automatically overwritten or permanently deleted according to our backup schedules

We do not use backup data for any other purpose.

10.6 Retention Required by Law

Certain information may be retained longer when required by:

  • State or federal reporting obligations
  • Grant or funding requirements
  • Audit procedures
  • Legal proceedings
  • Regulatory rules

When retention is required by law, deletion requests may be limited or delayed.

10.7 Retention and Deletion for Minors

Parents, guardians, or authorized schools may request:

  • Review of a Minor’s information
  • Correction of inaccurate information
  • Deletion of certain records

We honor deletion requests consistent with:

  • Program needs
  • Legal requirements
  • Safe operation of our educational and employment services

Information shared by a Minor with an employer as part of a job application is subject to the employer’s retention practices.

11. International Transfers

FWTI is based in the United States, and the Personal Information we collect is processed primarily in the United States. Because we work with schools, employers, partners, and service providers across different states and countries, your information may be transferred to, stored in, or accessed from locations outside your state, province, or country.

11.1 Transfers to the United States

If you access our Services from outside the United States, please be aware that your Personal Information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your location. By using our Services, you acknowledge and agree to this transfer.
