Job Purpose

To ensure smooth operation of forming/press process by maintaining equipment in a safe, clean condition

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain clean forming line, loader, press and unloader using plant air to blow down equipment
  • Regularly inspects press area to monitor thermal oil lines, hydraulic lines and condition of return line, in accordance with Press Fire Prevention Module
  • Inspects forming machine area to monitor distribution conveyor bunkers, doffing rolls and spreader rolls
  • Removes plugs in forming machine
  • Operates press on a relief basis
  • Uses radio to maintain contact with press operator, maintenance personnel and supervisor
  • Expected to maintain 100% compliance with environmental, safety and housekeeping policies and standards for area
  • Expected to safely, efficiently train in operation of forming/pressing, pneumatics and RTO processes
  • Expected to maintain 100% compliant with Press Fire Prevention Module responsibilities
  • Complete control plans and operational check sheets monitoring production process
  • Performs all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned/necessary

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Good hand/eye coordination
  • Ability to read and understand, follow safety rules and regulations
  • Knowledge and understanding of plant operations and emission control devices (RTOs, pneumatic systems)
  • Good mechanical aptitude

Education:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in equipment operation.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
