Job Purpose

Operates, adjusts, and monitors roller coater and all conveyors to ensure quality board is produced.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  1. Monitors panel weights to ensure quality product.
  2. Completes all Quality tests and set-up procedures
  3. Fills chain troughs with fresh water prior to start up and before each run
  4. Verifies panel gap at coater is set correctly
  5. Inspects slurry coater daily, noting any deficiencies
  6. Cleans sensors
  7. Monitors gapping conveyor
  8. Adjusts fiberglass choppers to ensure proper glass coverage
  9. Monitors coat thickness with wet film gauge
  10. Removes change and/or clean spray tips
  11. Pressure washes conveyors and floor underneath
  12. Pressure washes slurry coater cabinet and pans
  13. Flushes slurry transfer pump
  14. Responsible for the system clean up, spray down process during the day and end of day clean up
  15. Assist on fiberglass changes
  16. Uses radio to maintain communication with operators, maintenance, and supervisor
  17. Logs downtime and notes causes
  18. Performs all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
  19. Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

  1. Knowledge of multiple complex equipment operation.
  2. Knowledge of equipment maintenance.
  3. Time management and multi-tasking skills.
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Demonstrated mechanical ability.
  6. Demonstrated ability to operate multiple pieces of equipment.
  7. Possess ability to work in extreme temperatures
  8. Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.

Education:

  1. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Experience:

  1. 3 – 5 years’ experience in equipment operation.
  2. Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
