Job Purpose
To operate a simple piece of equipment on the TechShield product line in an OSB manufacturing facility.
In this position you will have the opportunity to:
- Operate the bander/strapper equipment on the TechShield product line during the night shift
- Cover all units with TechShield bags prior to banding
- Complete any re-grade work on product line
- Print ID tags for completed units
- Complete Quality control checks on all product
- Check supplies to ensure smooth operation.
- Make minor adjustments to maintain equipment in good operating order.
- Provide general relief in support of TechShield or T & G line positions during breaks as assigned.
- Keep the banding area clean by blowing down, sweeping, and picking up trash
- Maintain the printer and keep it clean
- Write all unit tags produced and report them to the supervisor
- Manage any unused tags
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
What do I need to be successful?
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of equipment operation.
- Knowledge of line position duties and functions.
- Knowledge of general plant clean-up and utility functions.
- Time management and prioritizing skills.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- 3 – 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
Work Environment
Plant environment with exposure to sawdust, chemicals, extreme temperatures and other inclement conditions.
