Full Time Position: Monday-Friday 7am-4pm w/ possibility for OT
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team at a lumber manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered equipment, trucks, and trailers as well as machinery used in daily operations. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical knowledge. attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and heavy equipment. Most equipment is later model. (e.g., loaders, forklifts, and other machinery)
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and implement effective solutions
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
- Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to support production goals
- Respond to emergency repair needs as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (Technical Certification Preferred)
- 5+ years experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment
- Valid Drivers License

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in industrial environments, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand, bend, and work in confined spaces as needed
