Job Purpose

To operate the strapping equipment in an OSB manufacturing facility.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Complete packaging of products produced from mainline following quality specifications
  • Clean and maintain main line paint booth, stencil/end stripper area, and transfer chain conveyors
  • Ensure the unit tags, straps and cross-outs are installed correctly per quality specifications
  • Visually inspect the finished product for downgrade material
  • Clean and organize the paint booth/strapper area
  • Assist with re-grading product
  • Clean and maintain the paint pump room and filters
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Time management skills.
  • Knowledge of line position duties and functions.
  • Knowledge of general plant clean-up and utility functions.
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

  • 3 months experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

Work Environment

Plant environment with exposure to sawdust, chemicals, extreme temperatures (hot and cold), and other inclement conditions.
