Forest Dozer Operator

Duties

• Operate dozers and other heavy machinery such as loaders, graders, excavators, water trucks, and dump trucks to clear land, build roads, and prepare sites for forestry operations.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
• Support logging activities by creating access routes and maintaining existing roads to facilitate efficient timber extraction.
• Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and operational reports.
• Follow all safety protocols and environmental guidelines to minimize impact on surrounding ecosystems.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate equipment use and ensure project deadlines are met efficiently.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks.
• Proven experience operating construction machinery in forestry or construction sites.
• Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in operating heavy vehicles like dump trucks or tanker trucks.
• Familiarity with Caterpillar (CAT) equipment models and controls is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of construction site safety standards and environmental regulations related to forestry work.
• Ability to perform basic maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly.
• Excellent communication skills for teamwork and safety coordination on-site.
