Job Description
Part-time strategic growth role supporting development of MTM Environmental's cultural resources service area. Work may include business development, proposal writing, archaeological surveys, site evaluations, Section 106/NEPA compliance, technical reporting and coordination with agencies and partners. The position is primarily remote with occasional travel and fieldwork across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic.
The role is intended to grow into a full-time, long-term position as the program expands. Compensation is based on experience.
MTM Environmental, LLC (“MTM”) is a certified Woman-Owned Small Business (“WOSB”) environmental consulting firm, with offices in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. Our staff consists of biologists, including a Certified Wildlife Biologist®, a Certified Forester ®/ Registered Forester (AL/GA), a Certified Financial Officer, and several seasonal employees, including foresters, with extensive experience in their respective fields.
Since our launch in 2021, we have completed projects throughout the United States. Our team has assisted with the protection of more than 22,100 acres and has conducted wildlife sampling across more than 109,000 acres.
Our staff has experience working on private, state, and federal projects. This includes a rare plant survey in Rocky Mountain National Park (2023); avian surveys on state- and federally managed lands in Southern California, Nevada, and Alabama (2024–2025), North Carolina (2025), and Tennessee (2026–2027); and raptor surveys in Colorado (2025), Wyoming and Arizona (2026). We have conducted timber stand exams on federal lands in Pennsylvania, Wyoming, and Wisconsin (2024), Indiana and Missouri (2026), as well as botanical surveys across Georgia (2024, 2026), New Hampshire, and Alabama (2024–2026).
In 2025, we initiated a multi-year project documenting rare, threatened, and endangered species on a federally managed property in Connecticut, which was completed 2026. In 2026, we will also complete a GIS mapping project in North Dakota and South Dakota.
In addition to project-based work, we collaborate with nonprofit organizations and governmental entities on a variety of initiatives, including outreach, education, and grant-supported programs.
