POSITION SUMMARY The Production Operator is responsible for operating machinery and equipment in their department to process logs into lumber and other wood products. This role requires attention to safety, efficiency, and quality control while performing various tasks and maintaining equipment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with rules, regulations and JSAs. Follow safety protocols and report hazards to ensure a safe work environment. Learn the safe and efficient operation of each machine assigned. Understand and actively apply yourself in the operator work-up program to advance through training and experience. Serve as a relief operator for a wide variety of functions, machinery and workstations. Keep work area clean and organized and clean all additional areas as assigned. POSITION SUMMARY The Boiler/Kiln Operator maintains a wood fueled boiler to produce lumber with specified moisture content by kiln drying. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with rules, regulations and JSAs. Operate boiler by maintaining required pressure and steam flow. Monitor fuel in silo and be able to keep it at certain levels. Dry lumber of all sorts using computer to control kiln. Operate forklift to load and unload kilns, change kilns, and dump hopper. Monitor kilns throughout shift and make adjustments as needed. Cover sawmill/planer drivers when necessary. Help with new hire training and cross training of existing team members. Perform consistent work at acceptable production levels. Other duties as needed.
