Summer Intern

Job Description

Job Purpose

•    Learn the pre-finish process for our siding products.
•    Gain exposure to one or more of the following areas of operation:
o    Operations
o    Quality
o    Environmental, Health & Safety
o    Maintenance & Reliability
o    Human Resources
•    Develop or assist in the development of plant projects.
•    Assist in the creation of site SOPs, JSAs and Training Program
•    Assist with daily tracking of Quality, Safety and Operations metrics and report creation.
•    Assist in recording testing and inspection results, inputting them into appropriate database or spreadsheets. 
•    Identify and respond to statistical trends or non-conforming process measures and test values.  
•    Assist in monitoring and recording consumption and inventory of raw materials.
•    Assist in process and product tests/trials as assigned and compile, analyze, and report trial test results as required.  
•    Be pro-active in identifying and performing other tasks to maintain and improve safety, quality, and environmental performance.
•    Participate in mentoring opportunities from plant management staff.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

•    Approximately 12-week program (flexible start and end dates based on your school schedule)
•    Wage of $24/hour ($960 per week)

Education

•    Currently enrolled in a Associate/Bachelor’s degree program, preferably in an Engineering/Business Administration 

Work Environment

•    The lab and manufacturing environment includes exposure to moving parts, fumes, chemicals, airborne particles, and high temperatures.  
•    The employee must have the ability to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, work in inclement weather, and work with elevated noise levels.   
•    The position requires the ability to frequently lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
