As a Tree / Pole Marker for Bell Lumber & Pole, you’ll spend your days in the field marking trees, collecting forestry data and helping promote safe, sustainable forestry practices for the southern and western areas of Arkansas.
As a Tree / Pole Marker, you will:
- Conduct thorough assessments of designated areas to identify trees slated for harvesting.
- Knowledgeably identify tree species and assess their health and quality for harvest.
- Clearly mark selected trees for cutting according to prescribed guidelines for both poles and other needs.
- Ensure accurate mapping of marked trees using GPS or other designated tools.
- Collaborate with forestry teams to ensure efficient workflow and proper logging of marked trees.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures during all marking activities.
- Maintain compliance with environmental regulations, company policies, and forestry standards.
- Report any safety hazards, incidents, or violations to the Forestry Supervisor immediately.
- Record accurate data related to marked trees, including species, size, and condition.
- Prepare reports on marked trees, their locations, and any relevant findings.
- Assist in maintaining comprehensive forestry records for analysis and planning purposes.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of marking tools, including paint, flags, and other equipment.
- Report any equipment issues or needs to the appropriate supervisor for timely resolution.
- Support the company's commitment to sustainable forestry practices.
- Promote conservation efforts and responsible land management in all marking activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
